Story Time: Tarot Edition

Who wants to go on an adventure with me?

Did you know that tarot cards tell a story?

That’s right, tarot tells the story of a character known as “The Fool”.

Yes, that guy on the number 0 tarot card.

Let’s go on an adventure with The Fool.

Essentially, tarot is a book. It tells a story and once you learn how to read it like a book, understanding the overall story is so much easier!

The Fool is the protagonist in this story, and this story is about his journey through the Major Arcana.

The Major Arcana start at 0 and ends at 21. These cards represent archetypes that help us navigate our way through life. The Major Arcana indicate major life events and changes, where the Minor Arcana represent our day to day experiences. Major Arcana are the people in our lives and our life lessons. It is easier to see this through The Fool's Story.

The Fool goes through a journey, and we see the people who influences and guides him through it. We can also see the lessons that he learns. The Fool represents the beginning and also the end of a story. He is the space between that end and the next beginning.

Let's start with his departure. We see The Fool happily trotting along with a little flower in his hand. This flower and colorful clothing symbolizes that he isn’t preoccupied by what others think, but is more concerned with his own story instead. He is carrying a very light load, just a little bag all packed for his trip. He is ready to step into the unknown, and.. right off a cliff... Thank goodness that little protector of his is tugging on his shoe!!

His little dog guides him and he is filled wi the enjoyment of a beautiful day as he begins his journey.

He is a visionary. He is full of large hopes and dreams. He is the beginning, therefore he is innocent. He embodies the potential for new opportunities.

This is the journey through the Art of Tarot Deck. My very first deck of cards given to me by a precious loved one.
